Cloud Issues/Concern

Security - Services Vendors have already defined Security in their architecture Eg. Google and Amazon
Data Ownership - Who owns the data? What happens to the data after the contract is over with the Service provider?
Availability - Dedicated line to the Cloud.  Will the Service will have a downtime?
Training - Will there be additional training for the IT Employees.
User Experience (Speed) - Will the user have enough speed to access the cloud services.
Price - Will the Cost be more in the overall run.

Cloud Business Models

  • IaaS - Infrastructure as a Service
  • PaaS - Platform as a Service
  • SaaS - Software as Service
They are many other business models like DaaS [Database as a Service], HaaS [Hardware as a services] XaaS to [Anything as a Service] that can be used as a service operating from the cloud. A brief idea on some of the cloud models.

Software as a Service:  This is a cloud based delivery of complete software application that run on infrastructure and on a platform provider. These SaaS applications are accessed over the Internet and charged on the service usage.

Platform as a Service:  This service is where software applications are run on the cl It is used to develop applications and run application services. They are usually run by the vendor on the public cloud infrastructure.

Infrastructure as a Service:   This is the Delivery of raw, virtualized computing infrastructure such as servers and storage as a service to build applications. Cloud Users can acquire resources as much as they need and are charged for the Infrastructure Usage.

What is Cloud Computing?

Definition 1: Cloud Computing is a form of a distributed network where resources are virtualised and scaled endlessly.

Definition 2: According to NIST(National Institute of Information and Technology), Cloud Computing is a pay per use model for enabling available, convenient, on demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources(eg. networks, servers, storage, application, services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with management effort or service provider interation.
